Position: Full-time / Permanent

As a heavy vehicle mechanic and under the supervision of the Transport Director, the incumbent’s goal is to perform maintenance and repairs on the trucks and trailers in our fleet. More specifically, their main challenges will be to:

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow up on the corrective and preventive maintenance of the truck fleet according to the PEP program rules;
Welding, refurbishment/repair/modification of trailers as needed;
Perform general maintenance tasks on trucks and tankers: tire changes, brakes, oil changes, lubrication, clutch, brakes, axles, suspension, chassis;
Rigorously maintain the electrical and electronic systems of the tankers;
Accurately diagnose and repair defective parts or systems (electrical, electronic, etc.);
Ensure the proper functioning of the repaired systems;
Use diagnostic software effectively;
All other tasks related to the position.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

Hold a qualification equivalent to a diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics or 2 years of experience in the field of mechanics;
Hold a welding DEP (asset);
Class 1 license (asset) or Class 5 and PEP card;
Knowledge of electricity;
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
Interest and skills in problem-solving / troubleshooting;
Ingenuity, dynamism, resourcefulness, autonomy, and the ability to meet deadlines;
Willingness to take training to improve mechanical knowledge;
No criminal record related to the job;
Ability to work in a team;
Strong focus on health and safety at work and legal compliance in transportation.
